In order to provide strict financial controls and minimize the possibility of fraud, the processes relied upon by Analytics to distribute settlement funds are based upon "best payment practices" as outlined by a consensus of treasury management professionals.

Management of Settlement Funds

Working with our clients, Analytics' develops a written investment strategy that is tailored to the terms of a given settlement, and establishes the necessary investment and distribution accounts. Analytics' monthly reporting tracks all deposits, interest, and disbursements, and conducts a complete reconciliation of each account.

Distribution of Settlement Proceeds

Upon completion of claims processing and the determination of claim values for all claims, distribution amounts are calculated and presented to our clients and the Court for approval. As part of this process, reporting is generated detailing the claims that will not be paid and the claims that will be paid (including their claim value and basis for the distribution). Because Analytics recognizes the importance of these calculations, all results, including the underlying assumptions, are submitted to our clients (and ultimately the Court) for approval.

Upon receipt of approval for the distribution, checks are printed and mailed to class members. Unless otherwise required by the Client, all checks are issued in a "positive pay" environment to reduce the possibility of class member fraud. This means that each check that is presented for payment would be compared (check number and amount) against the original register on a daily basis, and that any checks that do not match the original check register are flagged for our attention as a possible fraudulent check.

Non-Cash Distributions

In the event that a settlement calls for a non-cash distribution (coupons, for example), Analytics has the facilities to design and implement coupons, and to provide our clients with the ability to process and track coupon redemption.
